简历∶1987年10月27日，易建联出生在广东省鹤山市一户普通邮政职工之家。父亲易景流身高1米91，母亲麦美玲身高1米72，都是手球队队员。2岁（1989年）随工作调动的父母移居深圳。1999年夏天，12岁1米94的阿联一时心血来潮和夥伴们报名参加了深圳的街头篮球赛事，谁知第一轮就被淘汰了，可是一位一直在场边细细观察的业馀体校教练，却如获至宝，因为他看到了一个运动神经出众，灵气逼人的孩子。这位堪称伯乐的戴忆新教练先是用三寸不烂之舌说服了阿联的父母让阿联参加深圳体校训练，又和中国职业联赛豪门广东宏远俱乐部负责青训的教练联系，为阿联专门设计系统训练方案，阿联的身高和球技都无法控制般突飞猛进。2000年10月生日后的第二天，年仅13岁，身高已达2米02的易建联被大名鼎鼎的广东宏远俱乐部选入，成为青年队中一员，随后马上被选入中国国家青年队，踏上篮球之路。

1、2002年，代表中国参加德国曼海姆为美国以外U－18选手举行的训练营，平均下来有15分，6篮板和2封盖的优异成绩。
2、2002年5月，身高达到2.09米,参加北京体育大学举行的Adidas ABCD中国区训练营，获得MVP。
3、2002年7月，代表中国去美国新泽西参加阿迪达斯公司举办的ABCD训练营，易建联成为了246名参训球员中，惟一来自美国本土之外的球员。平均每场抢下5.2个篮板，高居参加训练营榜首。此外，每场有1次盖帽排在第二位、得6.7分排第五位、抢断0.3次排第八位。他的综合得分是12.8，排位第5，最终入选全明星阵容，并在全明星赛中9投4中，拿下8分5篮板。美国球探为易建联比赛中展现的速度，灵巧和球感而折服，ESPN为中国继王治郅、姚明、唐正东（现江苏南钢队主力中锋，2001年参加ABCD训练营）后又出现一位天才长人而吃惊，以“Yi no Yao，but ABCD has Chinese flvvor”为题专文报导。而nbadraft.把易建联列为未来国际球星（International“TheFuture”）的第七位。

5、2003年，16岁的阿联作为广东宏远队的第六人（中锋/大前锋）参加02-03年CBA联赛，夺得常规赛冠军、总决赛亚军，扣篮大赛亚军，并被选为最佳新人。
6、2003年代表深圳市队夺得中国城市运动会冠军。
7、2003年6月，参加中国高考，考入广东工业大学，成为一名在校大学生。
8、2003年7月，应Nike推荐,阿联代表中国赴美参加为期一周的“Big Man Camp”(大个子训练营)。
9、2003年阿联在美国参加篮球训练营时接受了美国《时代周刊》的访问。《时代周刊》刊登了一篇题为《下一个是谁》的文章，称易建联有可能继姚明之后掀起另一次中国球员加盟NBA的热潮。
10、Nike击败其他竞争对手，和易建联签定了6年的合同。合同的价值远远地超过了他现在的薪水，也超过了最初姚明和耐克的合同。
11、2004年，开始在广东宏远队成为主力，在第九周两场比赛中平均每场得24.5分，13.5个篮板，3次助攻，2.5次抢断，成为第九周MVP。
